Shopping til we' dropping.

So, Toronto is definitely a hot spot for shopping. Queens Street and the Eaton Centre did not let me down. Kaitlyn and I both made some killer purchases. My wallet is pissed but my closet is going to be ecstatic. I cannot wait to add these pieces to my wardrobe, holy crap.
These are the gifts Kimberly gave Kayla.
Kayla's purchases (Urban Behavior, H&M, Zara, Little Burgandy, Jeffrey Campbell, and The Dr Marten's store)
Kaitlyn's purchases (Urban Behavior, H&M, Zara, and Fairweather)

Canada Day 2

After a day of shopping and hanging out in Mississauga with my aunt and cousin Alex, Kaitlyn and I took the bus to Toronto to meet up with my cousin Kim for shopping and eats before the Odd Future show. Kaitlyn and I made it to the Eaton Centre (coolest shopping mall EVER) all by ourselves (hehehehe). Our friends Thana and Pablo met up with us for shopping and dinner too. After spending too much money (and too much time on the phone trying to get Bank of America to let my debit card work) we got wings at Wild Wing where I also ordered my first beer (but didn't even get carded so it wasn't that exciting).

Afterwards we went to the show, saw an over dressed girl in line for Odd Future, and it was all just more good times from there. I also got to get a wristband (for being over nineteen AND I FELT SO COOL). I got my second legal drink there and then danced the night away to Odd Future's set where they played my two all time favorite songs: Burger and Orange juice, SWAG! Kaitlyn, Kim and I were totally swagged out by the time we took a cab back to the house we were falling asleep hehe. I'm all bruised up but it was worth it. We're getting up and geting ready to head back to Toronto today! We will keep you updated and probably post a haul from our shopping at some point today. I AM CRAVING SALAD SO BAD.

Is it ALWAYS better to over pack?

Yes, I waited until 1 a.m. Sunday morning to begin my packing for Monday morning's flight to Canada. Yes, my pile of things I am packing looks over whelming for my four days I'll be there. Is it always better to over pack? I'm going to say, yes, as long as it fits in the suitcase it's always better to have extra pieces for choices/options while you're away. Okay, so maybe I am justifying how much shit I want to bring but I don't know what I'm going to want to wear when I'm there, what the weather will be like, or where we might go!

Okay so maybe two pair of blue jeans, two pairs of black jeans, a pair of leather pants, and two pairs of shorts is excessive. I am going to go through my piles tomorrow and decide what I REALLY need to bring and what I REALLY ABSOLUTELY DEFINITELY don't (which is probably a lot). I think black jeans and sweaters are going to be my most essential pieces in this trip. Add a scarf and a jacket if it's cold or leave it if it's not. I also think I'm safe with two pairs of flats and two pairs of boots (ignoring the fact that my Jeffrey Campbells weigh a hundred pounds). Hmph, I'm a horrible packer as you can see. I'm getting tired and my eye lids are getting heavy, I think I'll do better when I'm actually packing the stuff away in the morning. Therefore, I am going to let these piles sit here until tomorrow.

Wish me luck (I cannot wait to see what Kaitlyn packed)! We will definitely have an update tomorrow night. I can only imagine how excited and anxious the both of us will be once we get together.

FEELING GREAT, FEELING GOOD, HOW ARE YOU?

So as most of you know (or should know) I am always shopping. I haven't been purchasing makeup lately because I felt pretty content with my collection/selection and was focusing a lot on getting my fall wardrobe built on. Unfortunately for my face (and my wallet) I ran out of some MAJOR necessities in my makeup drawer this week and was forced to go on a make up spree.

You all should know that Kaitlyn and I are MAC enthusiasts. We swear by most (if not all) of their products. Today when I went to pick up my much loved Studio Fix Fluid liquid foundation they were all out of my shade! The awesome consultant at the counter told me about their brand new liquid foundation called Matchmaker and how much she liked it. I decided to give it a shot and am really excited about trying it out tomorrow (I got shade #2). Maybe I'll do a review comparing it to Fix Fluid. At MAC I also picked up some black Liquid Last (LIQUID LAST IS MY SHIT), a blush in the color Blunt, and the Studio Fix pressed powder foundation (in NC20). At Sephora I picked up my two Benefit must haves: Bad gal lash mascara (in black) and Erase paste concealer (in shade #2).

Along with my makeup shopping Kaitlyn and I decided to pick up stuff for our Halloween costumes! We got liquid latex (for making badass wounds), blood capsules, red cream makeup, white cream makeup, fake blood, awesome press on nails, and some cheap NYC drugstore foundations in transparent/ivory. I cannot wait to show you guys our final product of our costumes/makeup! What are you all being for halloween this year?

Pumpkin carving!

Last week Kaitlyn and I carved pumpkins with Savanna. They were our first pumpkins this fall and hopefully not our last! Savanna carved a Frankenstein, Kaitlyn a Dracula, and I did an Odd Future pumpkin. They all came out awesome (I think) and we had a really fun time with them, especially taking out the guts MUAHAHA. This fall is rad so far, except for the fact that it's been in the 80s outside, yuck. BRING ON THE COLD.

October: Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hey everyone! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and The Estée Lauder Companies are lighting 200 global landmarks pink this October as a symbol of hope in the fight against breast cancer. But they don’t want to stop there. They want to light the whole world pink with our words. Please click the link below and join in the sharing of hopeful messages of awareness about breast cancer. For each hopeful message your location on the map lights up pink and the goal is to, by the end of the month, get the whole world to light up pink! Please tell your friends, family and loved ones because you can help spread awareness about breast cancer without even spending a penny.

Shop and save on Karmaloop!

Okay, so even though this isn't best friend related, this is still somewhat of a fashion blog so I am going to post about this anyway. Last night I was surprised with the most fantastic pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes: The Damsel in floral tapestry! They are the coolest pair of shoes I have ever put my feet in. The floral printed tapestry is girly yet the hiking/camp style laces give the shoe an edgy touch that I can't get enough of. These 6.5 inch platforms are really something and have been selling out like crazy everywhere online.

Although mine were ordered from Lulus (which is currently sold out of them) you can now buy them on Karmaloop.com (get them while you can girls). Use the promo code: xkaylacastro and save some sort of percentage off of any purchase you make off the Karmaloop site. Have fun and let me know what you guys buy (they have the cutest stuff ever on the site)!

PS. Wishin' we were the same shoe size as always Kaitlyn.

"There's no place like home."

Tonight Kaitlyn told me that she has never seen The Wizard of Oz. Anyone who knows me knows I am the biggest Wizard of Oz fan (freak, geek, memorabilia collector, etc) there is. I instantly freaked out when she said she'd watch with me so instead of watching our first Halloween movie of the year/season we watched The Wizard of Oz instead. This movie hits a place in my heart and has ever since I was little. As cheesy as it sounds, sharing it with Kaitlyn tonight was really special to me. Plus I enjoyed singing along to the songs. I would have danced around my living room if I had any energy left after my day at work. Since Kaitlyn has become such a huge part of my life/family I really feel like there is no place like home (or twitter).

PS. She needs to stop calling the guards monkey guards....the monkeys and the guards are two completely separate people. Not to mention the monkeys are blue and the guards are green. Silly Kaitlyn Trix are for kids.
